I am a senior citizen who enjoys writing and other forms of communication. I enjoy designing cards for all occasions. Dogs have always been a major part of my life. I have published my own dog magazine, written dog columns for a local newspaper's web site and major TV station web site, and conducted informational classes about dogs through the library system for over 25 years. I write poems about each one of my dogs. My biggest achievement was becoming a member of Mensa. Music makes me happy. I love to dance. Skating was my life when I was young. Adopting a rescue dog has given me a new start in life. He has taught me so much.

The Rainbow Bridge

Late word into Animal Crackers this noon is that Gus was helped over the Rainbow Bridge by his mom and dad - Karin and Mike last night. He joins an august group of companions that wait for us to meet them some day and have a grand reunion. Until then his star shines brightly to let us know that he is happy and at peace and, if you look out at the clear night sky, you can find him smiling down to tell you it's OK. You can share the wonderful memories that they all shared since he came to live with them at nine weeks old.

Here is a picture of the family Gus was so lucky to be a part of through the years. All Goldens should be so lucky. He will be missed by his four-legged pals just as much as his mom and dad. Everyone will mourn his passing in their own way. Dogs do mourn the loss of one of their own. But how lucky they all are to be able to have one another to share all of the wonderful memories of the years with Gus.
