I am a senior citizen who enjoys writing and other forms of communication. I enjoy designing cards for all occasions. Dogs have always been a major part of my life. I have published my own dog magazine, written dog columns for a local newspaper's web site and major TV station web site, and conducted informational classes about dogs through the library system for over 25 years. I write poems about each one of my dogs. My biggest achievement was becoming a member of Mensa. Music makes me happy. I love to dance. Skating was my life when I was young. Adopting a rescue dog has given me a new start in life. He has taught me so much.

DAKOTA UPDATE

It is finally above zero! It has been a long haul. We still face some sub zero temps I guess but at least you can stick your head out of the door without freezing off your nose. About the only positive aspect of this miserable weather is there was snow on the ground. It looked like winter, which is more than I can say for December and January.

Today Dakota could go out without a coat and he could take his Boo Boo Bear with him. My husband was able to sleep in and didn't have to dash down with us to possibly carry Dakota in if his feet started freezing. His past did not include sub zero temps because he seemed surprised by all of the commotion we were making each morning. He did seem to appreciate the coat and got used to having it put on. He was never happy about his toy being taken away however. I found it necessary because he would not come in if he took it with him.

We only had to carry him in twice. Never once did he give up his rolling in the snow however. That is part of Dakota's genes and no matter how cold it got, he HAD to roll. At least his feet were up in the air. I thought if I demanded him to change, he would be scared for the rest of his life.

I dreaded turning on the radio before I got up each morning to see how far below zero we were sitting at and knowing I'd have to pry my husband out of bed. He got his valentine's gift this morning. I wish we could have exchanged some of NY's snow for a few degrees of temperature. But it doesn't work that way. Rats! All of my snowbird friends in AZ were complaining about the cold 60 degree weather. Poor things.

There was one positive fallout to this ungodly weather. I got a lot of computer work done. I'm a happy camper now. I have a wonderful new software program for writing and drawing. It is wonderful. It also lets me upload my posts from my desk and it's so much fun. I need a new email program but that will come soon I hope. I can now start on my new blog.

Now it's time to think spring. We survived – we always do. We're tough, that's why we live so long. Back to posting blogs.
